Committed to Justice

BACKGROUND

Scott W. Drorbaugh is a candidate for District Attorney with nearly a decade of felony prosecution experience serving in both Alamance and Guilford County. Over the course of his career he has prosecuted some of the most serious and complex criminal cases, including murder, robberies, drug trafficking, shootings, felony domestic violence, burglaries, elder abuse, felony animal abuse, and vehicular homicide. Through this work, Scott has stood alongside victims and law enforcement while handling high-stakes cases that demand preparation, sound judgment, and an unwavering commitment to justice and public safety.

VISION

Our criminal justice system is strained. The rule of law is too often perceived as unfair, or weaponized for political purposes across the country. Scott believes it is critical to rebuild trust through fairness, transparency, and principled leadership. He is not part of a “good ol’ boy” system and does not believe in treating defendants differently based on who they are, who they know, or their position in the community. As District Attorney, he will hold violent offenders fully accountable while ensuring proportionality and equal application of the law. He supports strengthening victims’ rights, expanding diversion and treatment courts for those struggling with mental health and substance abuse, and reducing unnecessary delays that leave defendants waiting years for trial.

A LIFE OF SERVICE

Beyond the Court Room

Scott and his wife, Heather, met in law school and were married in 2017. Heather has a career in wildlife conservation, and also travels the country to train and show dogs. They live on a small farm in southern Alamance County, where they care for sheep, pigs, ducks, geese, turkeys, chickens, two rescued barn cats, and an assortment of canine companions. Scott volunteers throughout the year with Camp Hope America, a nonprofit organization that provides mentoring, year-round support, and trauma-informed programming for children and teens who have experienced domestic violence, helping them build resilience, confidence, and hope for the future. His life on the farm and in the community reflects the same values he brings to public service: hard work, accountability, and a deep commitment to the people of Alamance County.
